Student Clifton Bell, 22, died the weekend of March 30-31 at The Edge Apartments. Clifton was a UCA exercise science major and a Chi Alpha student leader.
According to the Faulkner County Coroner, a cause of death has not been identified.
Junior Grant Wilson, one of Bell’s roommates, said he last saw Bell on the afternoon of Friday, March 29.
Wilson said when he last saw Bell, there was “nothing wrong with him.”
Wilson said Bell’s mother, Amy Bell, found him in his bedroom after Clifton missed several phone calls from her March 31.
“He was supposed to go to lunch with them for Easter,” Wilson said. “His parents are originally from Harrison and they moved to Texas. They said that they were calling him repeatedly, and eventually, she [Amy Bell] just drove over to the apartment, and I guess I didn’t lock the door when I left earlier that morning.”
According to the Conway Police calls for service log, a death call was made at 10:04 a.m.
Wilson said, “His friends and his family loved him very much. He was very loved in the community — not only Chi Alpha but in UCA as a whole.”
