Here’s a chance to be in a stage production by the esteemed Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre.
The AST is holding auditions tomorrow in Reynolds Performance Hall for its summer production of “Alice in Wonderland.” They begin at 5:30 p.m. and will last until about 7:30 p.m. No appointments are required.
The casting call is for an actress to play Alice and at least four more actors between the ages of 6 and 18 to play multiple roles. However, director Josh Rice said he would allow students older than 18 to audition, too. It helps if you have prior acting and singing experience or a special skill, such as juggling, skating, tumbling or dancing.
If you audition, you should prepare a song that you can perform a cappella, if asked. You also will be asked to read from a script provided by the director. Students older than 18 should prepare a monologue to perform at the audition.
If you can’t make the auditions today, AST will do it all again at 3 p.m. Thursday.
The show will be performed June 25-26 and July 2-3.
Alaina Kizer, 16, of Conway, has performed in the AST’s summer productions for the past two years. She described it as “the best summer experience” of her life.
