Fire arms and coffee is what gets our police forces off. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg star in “The Other Guys” as polar opposite co-workers with the same aspirations deep inside.
Peacocks and cocaine ravished Hybrids create walls that the detectives must overcome in order to become successful partners.
The pair is doubted and ridiculed for their past mistakes, ranging from celebrity shootouts to desk fires.
Detective Allen Gamble (Ferrell) catches a lead on a high-end business man that he and Detective Terry Hoitz (Wahlberg) later pinpoint for fraud and murder, and after the death of the department’s number one go-to team, Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), a special heroic vacancy is suddenly made available to all the detectives working for the New York City Police Department.
This couple’s ignorant suicide became their fate due to their arrogant dependance of their own impulses. Past mishaps and an already scarred reputation immediately make this position impossible for the hilarious duo of Hoitz and Gamble; however, Hoitz’s determination to be remembered and successful takes the men along a memorable and unbelievable journey.
This comedy does not exclude homeless men with scheduled orgies and thoughtless remarks; in fact, rudeness is quite welcome. As their ideas and persistent longing to be allowed access to a case of what Hoitz hopes to be the tail of the drug lords continuously gets shot down. Hoitz then finds himself demoted to traffic duty. Let down by his defeat, Hoitz learns to accept his fate and enjoy his new found position. He finds that he is better as an intersection director than he ever was as a detective.
On the other hand, his ex-partner, Gamble, finds the confidence he once bestowed in his pimping days to further explore their observations in the hopes of opening their case and gaining access back to his real gun.
Relationship problems, frequent meltdowns and countless fresh starts create minor distractions as Gamble and Hoitz soon discover that they were on to a much larger lead than they expected, as the head of their department so desperately tried to cover up.
Once the men were merely underestimated fools with dreams too high to achieve, now they stand firm as trustworthy and noble detectives.
This movie shouts out to those who have ever had a dream but were too afraid to let their bad side out. It lets people know that they do have a shot even though one might be overlooked as an underdog. “The Other Guys” is a must see comedy that will leave you walking out humming the tune of your favorite TLC lyrics. It includes humor that everyone can catch on to, understand, and enjoy.
