A stabbing took place on Dave Ward Drive that left one man dead and resulted in another in custody Feb. 22.
The incident took place at 1205 Dave Ward Drive inside the Conway Food Store, and police arrived on the scene at approximately 7:17 a.m. and found 36-year old Brendon Lambert lying face down covered in blood, according to the police report.
Upon arrival, officers attempted life saving measures on Lambert before paramedics arrived on the scene and transported Lambert to Baptist Health Hospital in Conway, where he later died from his injuries.
The suspect, 42-year old Melvin Jackson, escaped from the scene in a gray Jeep Cherokee, where he was later apprehended by Conway Police at his home at 174B South Davis Street.
According to the report, officers were initially dispatched to a location on Harkrider Street, and when the location was deemed incorrect, they arrived at the Conway Food Store approximately two minutes later.
According to police, the two men were seen arguing near the entrance of the Food Store and appeared to have known each other.
This is still an active investigation, but Jackson is now being held without bond at the Faulkner County Detention Center on a capital murder charge.
