Honors student Jack Russenberger died over the weekend in his home in Bigelow, Ark.
Russenberger, a junior majoring in computer science, was in his first year in the Honors College.
A Farris Hall resident, Russenberger had studied abroad in Japan while in high school, and according to Honors College Dean Dr. Patricia Smith, had “dreamed of returning.”
Outside of school, Russenberger’s hobbies included baking bread and spending time with family and friends.
Smith said the circumstances of Russenberger’s death are unknown.
Russenberger’s funeral was held at Primrose United Methodist Church in Little Rock, March 6 at 1 p.m.
“During this difficult time, we ask that you keep Jack’s loved ones in your thoughts and honor the family’s privacy. May we continue to care for one another with compassion and kindness in the days ahead,” President Houston Davis said in an email.
Smith said peer coaches are available to any Honors student who may feel personally affected by Russenberger’s death.
