After a three-year hiatus, Bryson Tiller finally put out a new album that is one of his best so far.
I have been waiting for this new album to come out since Tiller announced it on his social media March 19.
Tiller released the single “Whatever She Wants” on Feb. 13 to promote his new album.
The albums Tiller has put out over the past few years have had a darker and more gloomy sound, but this new album gives a more upbeat and happy tone for most of the songs on the album.
One of my favorite albums that Tiller has released is his 2015 debut album “Trap Soul.”
This new album is my second favorite and will be played all summer long.
The album has 19 songs with features from Victoria Monet on “Persuasion” and Clara La San on “Random Access Memory.”
There has yet to be one song on the album that I have skipped so far.
After the album was released last Friday night, I went straight to social media to see what some of the people were saying about the album.
Almost everybody felt like the album was very good and was tailor-made for those warmer days in the upcoming months.
Others only liked some of the songs and felt like most of the songs were too short.
Wishing that the songs could be longer is not really a criticism but more of a compliment because of how good this comeback album is from Tiller.
The opening song, “Attention,” is about being drawn to a very attractive woman.
Tiller admires her confidence and loves the beauty of her presence.
“Attention” is my favorite song of the entire album.
It gives the classic R&B feeling of the 1990s and early 2000s.
The duet with Victoria Monet on the track “Persuasion” gives a sexual yet exciting sound as they both are creative with their words and make them sound like they are using vulgar words without actually saying the real words.
This song showcases the great writing skills that both Monet and Tiller have and the great chemistry that they have together when making music.
“Ciao!” will be one of the best tracks of the summer.
The upbeat sound takes place while Tiller feels like he has been financially taken advantage of. He describes trying to balance love and being financially independent.
On the song “Stay Gold,” Tiller empathizes with the value of a relationship and the willingness to make things work.
It was first released on SoundCloud on Aug. 19, 2023, before the album was announced.
Tiller showcases on this album the versatility in sound choices and how his music is not subjective to anyone who wants to hear an upbeat summertime song or for a person struggling in their relationship with their partner.
In support of this album, Tiller will go on tour starting in Portland, Oregon, on May 11 and will wrap up the tour in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on June 28.
Bryson Tiller released his self-titled album April 5, and it is available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.
