On Jan. 28, American Football Conference and National Football Conference championship games left a lot of fans in shock and disbelief, including myself.
NFL fans like myself enjoyed the games despite the upsets because watching unexpected outcomes is the best thing to see.
The Baltimore Ravens being the number one seed in the AFC and having a home-field advantage for the playoffs didn’t seem to matter when they faced the defending champion The Kansas City Chiefs.
Seeing the Chiefs win this game was shocking, but also made me thrilled to watch since I started rooting for the Chiefs to win in 2020.
The Ravens played as if they feared the Chiefs and Lamar Jackson was trying to have a “who can throw the farthest” competition with Patrick Mahomes instead of using his best strength, which is running.
This might’ve been the Baltimore Ravens’ best chance to make it to a Super Bowl with the Chiefs finally looking vulnerable through the regular season.
The Buffalo Bills were still not able to beat the Chiefs when it mattered in the playoffs.
Later on that night, we would see the Detroit Lions choke away a 17-point lead at the beginning of the third quarter against the San Francisco 49ers.
This loss for the Lions was almost just as bad as when the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the 2018 Super Bowl.
In the days leading up to these games, everyone on social media was rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers to lose their games.
Since the beginning of the season, it has felt like the NFL has focused more on the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
Each camera angle of Taylor Swift is shown after each touchdown score by the Chiefs.
NFL fans are getting tired of seeing Taylor Swift at each and every game and want the 49ers to lose so that the Lions can continue their amazing playoff run.
Nobody got their wish and we all now have to sit and watch “The Taylor Swift Bowl.”
The NFL showing Taylor Swift on every single shot during a game is just a money grab for more viewers and to gain new fans who might know nothing about football.
No matter how much others dislike the Chiefs because of all the media attention, no one can deny that the Chiefs are becoming a new NFL dynasty right before our eyes.
The Kansas City Chiefs have now gone six straight AFC championship games and won two Super Bowls since Patrick Mahomes became the starting quarterback in 2018.
The New England Patriots were dominant with the greatest quarterback of all time Tom Brady, but had some controversial moments in games such as deflating footballs and trying to destroy phones with some scandalous information on them.
Seeing the Chiefs win is much more satisfying to watch every year than seeing the Patriots win yet another one.
The 49ers, who have beaten the Cowboys every time they step on the field, have been dominant and great in the playoffs over the past three years going to three straight NFC championship games and finally reaching the Super Bowl this year.
If you are a true NFL fan, then you will watch this game no matter what other people think about these two teams.
Since the Dallas Cowboys have let me down once again, I will now root for the Kansas City Chiefs every year until Jerry Jones retires — or until they can draft another quarterback that can be the next Patrick Mahomes.
