5. Doc’s Coffee + Creamery
Doc’s Coffee + Creamery is much more than a coffee shop. Going to Doc’s is an experience like no other. In a refurbished barn-looking building, it has a charm that everyone should enjoy. Doc’s has a delectable selection of locally made pastries, cookies, fudge and ice cream. The workers are incredibly friendly and helped me pick out my new favorite drink: the golden hour latte. Did I mention Doc? Doc is the face of the brand — a handsome Portuguese water dog. Contrary to the name, Doc actually hates water… but he is still the best boy in the world!
4. 7 Brew
7 Brew is of course in the top three, and just not because it pays my bills. 7 Brew has an enormous variety of flavors that make over 2,000 different drinks. It’s keto-friendly, and there are lots of sugar-free options for the health nuts out there. Whether it’s a coffee, energy drink, smoothie, or even a milkshake, you can truly get something for any mood. While the coffee is yummy every time, it’s not why people go to 7 Brew. People go for the atmosphere that the employees provide. Their slogan is “Cultivate Kindness,” and they do it with a smile, even when taking the most complicated orders.
3. T.H.I.N.K.
T.H.I.N.K. is on the podium, not only because of the delicious coffee but because of its backstory. T.H.I.N.K. stands for “THerapy IN a Kup.” Local to Conway, T.H.I.N.K. supports special needs children and their families. T.H.I.N.K. also creates an entire menu every season with creative themes. The spring 2023 menu comprises drinks inspired by absolute icons, such as the Fine Line, the Hotel California, and the Stevie Nicks. T.H.I.N.K. has a location in the College of Business, where you’ll find me before my 8 a.m. class every day.
4. Shadrachs
Shadrachs is fairly new to Conway. If you haven’t tried it yet, here’s your sign to drive to Prince St. for a little somethin’. Similar to 7 Brew, Shadrachs has a variety of unique flavor combinations for both coffee and energy drinks, so you can customize your drink as crazy as you’d like, judgment-free. I’ll admit, Shadrachs has a special place in my heart since I’m from the Jonesboro area, which is where it got its start. Shadrachs is a small company at the moment, but clearly it’s moving up in the world since Conway was blessed with one.
1. Blue Sail
Blue Sail is a great option if you want to relax for a few hours, get some homework done or grab coffee with friends. While there’s no drive-thru, Blue Sail makes up for it with their coffee and with the immaculate vibe of the place. It’s aesthetically pleasing, with gorgeous murals all over the walls and lots of greenery. There’s lots of seating options, including comfy couches, booths, and an outdoor seating area. The music is always so good; I once asked a barista if they had my Spotify playlist on because I swear I knew every song they played.
