There are many highlights discussed throughout the day on sports television, such as the Dallas Cowboys trying to make the Super Bowl for the first time in 28 years, or the New York Jets losing Aaron Rodgers in the first game of the season.
Who would’ve thought that the sports story of the week would be who Travis Kelce is dating?
For those of you who didn’t know who Travis Kelce was until last Sunday, Kelce is the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, who won the Super Bowl last year.
Travis might have been ecstatic about getting his second Super Bowl championship, but not as overjoyed as he appears to be with his new plus one.
If you were watching last Sunday’s game of the Kansas City Chiefs demolition of the Chicago Bears, which ended with a score of 41-10, then you might have thought one of the Chiefs cheerleaders was constantly being shown on TV sitting in a suite — but nope, it’s just Taylor Swift cheering for her new man.
Taylor Swift is currently one of the biggest stars of this generation with millions of fans around the world. She could put out a blank album and it would skyrocket to number one on the Billboard Top 100.
The game was a blowout loss, so it makes sense why Taylor Swift got a lot of the airtime, more than some of the actual players — but most sports fans, such as myself, did not want to spend our whole Sunday afternoon watching her jump up and down and then see it all over again on social media for an entire week.
The Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes seem to enjoy this type of behavior. I don’t see why the team would want any unnecessary media attention that has nothing to do with playing in the NFL.
If I were a teammate in that locker room, I would be so annoyed enough to walk out if I saw them together.
I don’t mean to sound like a hater, but the players have a job to do and another Super Bowl ring to chase. Any real athlete would understand what I am talking about.
Hopefully, this so-called relationship between Travis and Taylor does not affect his play on the field.
The Chiefs are known for being one of the top teams in the AFC every year and cannot afford any outside distractions that could affect their success.
But who am I to judge or care, I’m not even a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Let’s go Cowboys
