The Kardashian’s newest season is back with episodes full of prolonged drama, guacamole wars, singledom and glamorous vacations; however, the content in the first episode seems a little dry and bland.
The same Kardashian crew is in this season, with an old flame that becomes a part of the first two episodes.
These episodes feature a family trip and a rehash of old drama between Kim and Kourtney.
The first episode mainly focused on the trip and the Kar-Jenner sisters eating, drinking and taking pictures. There wasn’t much of a point and it got bland quickly.
One huge concept in the first episode is the reintroduction of Tristan Thompson, Khloe Kardashian’s former beau.
In past seasons, the conversation of his unfaithfulness had not been hidden, but his constant presence in season four’s first two episodes is unpleasant.
In season three, Khloe and Tristan welcomed a baby boy to their family, yet days after their surrogate’s embryo transfer news broke that Thompson had hidden a secret child with another woman for nine months.
He should not be welcomed back and painted as this amazing father figure because he’s not only a cheater but has made Khloe look like a fool — twice.
Khloe and Tristan were not the only premiere’s only unhinged pair, as Kim and Kourtney’s prolonged drama still dwindled into the new season.
Kim and Kourtney have continued their rocky relationship from last season after Kim disrespected Kourtney by accepting the 2022 Dolce & Gabbana campaign that features looks from Kourtney’s wedding to former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
After an exclusive pull of vintage designs, Kourtney has been very open on her stance that Kim is mimicking her “dolce vita lifestyle”.
Although the feud seems silly, it created lots of giggles for viewers after some heated conversations and catfights.
Compared to the last few seasons, the first episode seems mild, and its drama level struggles because the content is old news.
Kourtney and Kim hating each other has been public knowledge since 2022 but the conflict remains comedic.
Considering Khloe and Tristan’s drama alongside Kourtney and Kim’s feud, there wasn’t much else to the episode.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner both didn’t add much to the storyline either, except for an upsetting attempt to make homemade guacamole, which made me seriously consider the brain cells shared between the two.
Kris, at age 67, served looks this season, and hopefully, she has repurchased her favorite edibles to induce more laughing fits at family dinners, but Corey seemed to still be in the loop considering his nepotism through the Kardashians.
All in all, this season’s premiere didn’t stand out amongst other seasons, but perhaps the Kardashians have run out of interesting topics to show.
Episodes of the Kardashians’ newest season can be found on Hulu and Disney Plus, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday at 11 p.m.
