Many Nickelodeon fans were very excited and enthusiastic about the new film “Good Burger 2.”
If you grew up in the late 1990s or the early 2000s, then this is the type of film that makes you appreciate the TV shows and movies that are cultural phenomena such as “All That” and “Kenan and Kel.”
The original “Good Burger” was released in 1997, which was around the time that Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell were both at the top of their careers as childhood stars.
Now, 26 years later the film “Good Burger 2” was released Nov. 22 just before the Thanksgiving holiday.
The film had many of the original characters such as Carmen Electra, Shar Jackson and Josh Server return.
Nickelodeon has always been a network that is entertaining and comforting to watch while growing up. “Good Burger” is one of those films that will always be a part of childhood and a classic for all generations.
Watching “Good Burger” is one of those movies that will make you want to go get some McDonalds or Burger King after watching it.
Over the past few years, there have been many sequel films that have been so horrible that it makes me wonder why they would even attempt to reintroduce the original characters in a new setting that doesn’t make sense.
There are new characters that the film introduces to the world such as Ed-2 played by Alex R. Hibbert, Cecil played by Lil Rel Howery and Katt played by Jillian Bell.
It feels good to see Kenan and Kel reunited together on screen after all of these years.
There were once rumors about the two of them not getting along with each other, but they put those rumors to bed when they both appeared on “Saturday Night Live” in 2015 for the “Good Burger” skit.
After the skit appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” the idea for a sequel started to go around about how the film could be made again using the original characters from the original film.
This new version of the “Good Burger” film can never compare to the original version.
The first film was made so many years ago and they waited way too long to finally decide to make a sequel where most of the cast are now in their early 40s or 50s.
This sequel for “Good Burger” was much better than the other sequels because the story writers didn’t try too hard to introduce a newer plot and did not add unnecessary characters that did not fit into the main purpose of the film.
The one good thing about the film is that it introduces “Good Burger” to a new generation of children who didn’t have a chance to watch the original and “All That,” the sketch comedy show where “Good Burger” was first conceived.
The film is now available on Paramount, YouTube and Amazon Prime Video for streaming.
