Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. If you watched E3 for anything, it better have been this game. Legend of Zelda: BOTW 2 is most likely the highest anticipated game coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022. With the original BOTW often called the best video game of the last decade, the excitement for the next installment is understood. A 12-month release date window was announced at E3 this year, so expect the game to surface anytime in 2022. The game will pick up right where the first one left off, leading the player to more adventures in Hyrule with Link and Zelda. 

Splatoon 3. The Splatoon 3 announcement was discussed long before E3, with a release date of summer 2022. The Nintendo Switch fandom is highly anticipating Splatoon 3, which promises new weapons and game modes, along with a brand new campaign mode. Splatoon 3 is said to start at the end of the last Splatfest Battle in Splatoon 2, where Chaos prevailed over Order. The game will focus on multiplayer functionality, of course, but there are high hopes for the campaign and the new character customization options. Since Splatoon 2 has been out for so long, many players are overpowered (OP), and Splatoon 3 is the perfect solution for new players overwhelmed with the leveling up that is available now. 

Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Developed by Game Freak and produced by Nintendo and the Pokémon Company, gamers are notably anticipating Arceus for 2022. This game is available for pre-order right now and releases on January 28, 2022, for Nintendo Switch players. The game allows players to catch, survey and research new Pokémon in the Sinnoh region. At the beginning of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you will have to make the tough choice between a grass, fire or water starter Pokémon that will aid you in the vast open-world gameplay. The game promises intense new gameplay with multiple new aspects to the Role-Playing Game elements.  

Metroid Dread. This action and adventure game releases on October 8, 2021. Metroid Dread is the first newly added 2D Metroid game in 19 years and has been talked about a lot recently. The game will finally conclude the story arc that began in 1986. For many excited fans, the news came that you would be returning as Samus in the game. Metroid Dread has new gameplay and new game mechanics that are both fun and challenging for the player. Expect new enemies and robots that will hunt you down to no end. 

Super Mario Party Superstars. Another Mario Party game? This time matchmaking will be a bit different, with the addition of random online players to your party or group. Super Mario Party Superstars will also add the best of the past 100 mini-games from the series history. This game is perfect for parties with quick and mostly easy entertainment from the different mini-games. The release date is October 29, 2021, and should be available for pre-order soon.
