Rob Reiner was a noteworthy actor and director in Hollywood, On December 14, 2025 Reiner was found dead at the age of 78 in his Los Angeles home, alongside his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, age 70. They were found with knife wounds to their necks, by their youngest child Romy. Their son Nick was soon arrested on suspicion of their murder.
Reiner began making a name for himself starting in the late 60s.
The “Stand By Me” director made his first movie after transitioning from acting for almost 20 years. He was known for creating and starring in movies that are universally loved, like “The Princess Bride.”
Along with his work in the industry, Reiner was also a liberal activist, fighting for LGBTQ+ rights and active with environmental issues.
The tragedy of the couple’s death shocked millions of people around the world, those close to him and those who felt connected to him through his work.

Reiner popularized the “Mockumentary” genre along with recreating the entire genre of romantic comedy with his 1989 film “When Harry Met Sally.” He was known for being an overall kind person, but amazing at creating a good atmosphere on the sets he was working on.
