- Beyonce-2018
In lieu of one of the most iconic festivals of the year, Coachella, happening this week, it’s time to revisit some of the most unforgettable sets. When you think of iconic performances in general, Queen B easily takes the cake. Not only was the Houston native the first Black woman to headline Coachella in 2018, but she did it with such immense performance quality the historic moment was captured by Netflix in “Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé,” which showcased the inspirations and intentions that shaped the performance. Her two‑hour set featured performers from historically Black colleges and universities across the country, a stunning wardrobe honoring HBCU culture and a surprise Destiny’s Child reunion that cemented it as one of the most iconic performances in festival history.
2. Labrinth and Zendaya-2023
Not many times do we get the pleasure of seeing Zendaya’s other talents outside of her acting. The occasional, exceptional singer joined Labrinth in 2023 on Week two of Coachella to perform her “Euphoria” song, “All For Us.” What made this performance especially iconic was the fact that she did it all effortlessly, even without being able to hear herself over the screaming fans. The outfit also sparked a massive trend of lacey satin dresses paired with T‑shirts. The pink dress featured a fitted bodice and a bow at the chest, and she made it look even more fashion-forward by layering a white tank underneath it. Zendaya has a beautiful voice, and her being on a stage sharing it is enough to make the iconic list in any category.
3. Amy Winehouse-2007
Before Coachella was an influencer war zone, with festivalgoers spending thousands for stylists, it was a hub for pure, talented icons like Amy Winehouse. Her 2007 performance ended up being her first and last appearance at Coachella. Right after the release of her album “Back to Black,” Winehouse was one of the most sought-after artists of the time. While she didn’t headline, the performance still circulates through the TikTok cycle every Coachella season. The singer was backed by soul legends Sharon Jones & the Dap‑Kings and ran through some of her biggest hits, ending with one of her most iconic songs, “Rehab.”
4. Justin Bieber-2026
Without further ado, 2026 Coachella headliner Justin Bieber took the stage and brought all the nostalgia with a surprisingly relaxed show. Bieber has been in-and-out of headlines for years and has had many Beliebers worried for his mental health, and if this performance isn’t clocking to anyone, it is safe to say the singer has found his spark again. With his most famous hits like “Beauty and a Beat” and “Baby” being pulled out of the time capsules, and the occasional “meme break” where he shared some of his embarrassing and laughable paparazzi clips, the fun and carefree vibes were brought back to the festival scene, and the pop icon proved that he still stands on business.
5. No Doubt-2024
Coachella 2024 had an iconic run of artists, including Doja Cat’s “Hairy” performance, but the reunion of one of the most iconic 2000s pop groups, No Doubt – which even brought out Olivia Rodrigo – is easily among the standouts. Bringing back 2000s nostalgia will always be iconic, but Gwen Stefani – in her old attire and iconic bleach space buns – delivered a high‑energy, fully committed performance that pulled everyone back in time. With songs like “I’m Just a Girl,” the band came together again in a way that proved there is no “Hollaback Girl” when it comes to the iconic group.
