Lilly Moritz, a sophomore at UCA who is majoring in English, lives to help other people in any way that she can.
Moritz has plans to become a lawyer one day and plans to use her English degree as an attorney.
“I enjoy discovering different pieces of literature throughout time. After undergrad I will use my critical thinking and organizational skills to apply to law school or grad school,” she said.
Moritz said that she is able to achieve her goal of helping people through the organizations that she is a member of on campus.
She is involved in the UCA Pre-Law Society, Student Orientation Staff and Delta Zeta.
“I decided to join these organizations to gain connections and meet new people on campus,” Mortiz said.
She also said she joined these organizations as a way to achieve her goal of helping people.
“I’m passionate about helping people in need and extending resources to all. I was able to achieve these values through organizations at UCA; helping incoming freshmen discover their new home as well as philanthropy in Delta Zeta,” Moritz said.
Moritz has three other goals in life as well: graduating college, becoming a lawyer and defending those who cannot afford an attorney.
“I plan on reaching these goals by taking life one step at a time. Before worrying about distant future possibilities, I believe one should focus on more short-term possibilities,” Moritz said.
Moritz said there is one person who inspires her more than anyone else.
“The person who inspires me the most is my mom, Kathy. She is one of the strongest, most hardworking and kind people I know. She has taught me to be proud of who I am and to give grace to others,” she said.
She chose UCA because it was closer to Hot Springs. “I decided to come to UCA to be close to home as well as the beautiful campus,” Moritz said.
Her favorite things about campus are areas such as the fountain or the student center. “The fountain is a beautiful area that I get to pass every day on campus and the Student Center is a place where I always meet with friends to eat, hang out or study,” she said.
In her free-time Mortiz likes to hang out with friends and relax.
“I enjoy hanging out with my friends, listening to music and reading. I enjoy these things because they all give me a different type of joy. I am energized by all of these things in many different ways,” Moritz said.
