Now that the month of March is here, spring break is just around the corner for millions of students in the country.
Cold weather and harsh snow storms have really put a damper on many things in the past few months.
I know for myself this is a much-needed break from time spent going to classes each morning and spending evenings studying.
This is the one time during the semester when academic responsibilities can finally be put on pause.
There are many students who take this as a time to go out and party with their friends and family or travel to a different city.
I believe that this should be a time when students take advantage of the entire week to relax and focus on their mental health.
As a student myself, I know that each and every semester can be challenging and lead to stress and anxiety.
There are only a certain number of breaks that students are allowed to take during a semester.
This spring break, I will be spending most of my time catching up on tv shows that I have missed out on and spending more time with some of my childhood friends from high school.
I feel like doing this will give me more relief and peace than knowing that I will finally have a full week to myself just to unwind and chill.
Students who choose to study during their breaks from school are more likely to succeed in the long run each semester.
Setting goals before spring break starts helps you know what to accomplish, such as studying for midterms or catching up with assignments.
Having an agenda for spring break will help you stay organized and on track with academic and fun activities.
Taking a few days just to rest and disconnect from school-related activities is also one of the main things I take full advantage of during spring break.
Getting extra sleep and focusing on resting your mind and body can help lead to better study habits and less anxiety.
Balancing social life while also trying to study can be very challenging for me over the course of a semester.
That’s why during this upcoming spring break, I will take a few days to just hang out with my friends and other days to rest and study.
Doing this will help me develop a healthy school and social life balance for the weeks to come.
Having the time to finally go on a road trip or just sit around the house with family and friends is the best part of having a whole week off from school responsibilities.
Going to a job and working on school assignments every day is very challenging some days for me to handle.
With this upcoming spring break, it finally gives students like me a chance to focus on getting more time at work to help pay for the wants and needs of life.
Doing all of these methods to prioritize sleep, school and social life will help develop new helpful and healthy habits for the future.
