The Ugg slippers and boots have been coming back into style for the last few years.
Whenever I think of Uggs, I think of tall, fluffy boots that have no reason to be worn, other than the possibility of a trip to Antarctica.
I’m sure we all remember the early 2000s when Uggs came into fashion for the first time.
I’m by no means a “Ugg hater,” I’m just skeptical.
Whenever they’re worn, I don’t think anyone knows what to do with them.
What do you wear with them?
Do I wear jeans, leggings or skirts?
I wouldn’t recommend the skirt, but jeans or leggings can be a good start.
My first pair of Uggs were the hot pink Bailey Bows, which I definitely wore every day.
Walking around campus, I see at least one person wearing some type of Ugg, whether it be slippers, boots or clothing.
While working in retail, I was made aware of the so-called “Rise of the Ugg.”
It was around Christmas Time in 2021, and every girl in my hometown wanted the Chestnut Ultra Mini Ugg boot.
It was a complete massacre!
In two weeks, every Ugg boot we had was gone.
I recall asking myself, “Are these really coming back?”
The short answer is yes, after having purchased two pairs myself.
Both were impulse purchases, but I do enjoy wearing them.
They’re both pretty simple for Ugg shoes.
I have a pair of Mini Uggs in Chestnut and a Platform Disquette Slipper in Chestnut.
The hard part is trying to decide whether the compliments are real or fake, bringing me to my hypothesis: If Uggs are back, are the Uggs more important or the style?
I think that everyone likes the idea of Uggs, but are we appreciative of how hard it is to style them?
When preparing an outfit, I’m clueless as to how I should embrace them.
I think that everyone likes the idea of Uggs, but the styling of the Ugg is the most important factor. We’ve all worn Uggs with sweatpants, but I think people appreciate them more when incorporated with an outfit. We hate the idea of early 2000s Ugg, but we love the idea of Uggs with cute outfits.
While this may be an idiotic theory, I believe people care more about how you style them than the boot itself.
Since they’re coming back, we’re seeing a new wave of Uggs. I’ve been wearing mine with leggings, considering the weather has been unpredictable. Every morning I consider wearing my Uggs out, a rush of anxiety consumes me.
I question anything and everything!
What will people think?
Am I wearing them the correct way?
I cannot be the only person who can feel this way about Uggs!
It could be my inability to not worry about what others think of me, or I could just be insane.
Maybe everyone else knows how to style Uggs, and I’m just stupid.
This could be a possibility, yet I hope my theory is true.
The Uggs have returned, and the rest of us have to figure out how to style them.
There has to be a logical explanation for their return.
Hopefully, someone else out there has the same feeling as I do.
Until then, I’ll continue worshiping the ground “stylish Ugg wearers” walk on and stress over my own lack of fashion sense.
Uggs coming back may be a blessing — we can finally incorporate them how they were “intended” to be worn.
My styling tip, to save yourself the trouble, is to wear them however you feel comfortable, even if that’s a skirt.
Uggs have come back, and the consensus is that they’re here to stay.
