The UCA Track and Field teams participated in the Wooo Pig Classic at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville on Feb. 7.
The event marked the third meet of the 2026 season for Central Arkansas, now back in Fayetteville for the second time after competing in the Arkansas Invitational on Jan. 16.
Competition got under way with the women’s long jump and the men’s weight throw and wrapped up shortly with the conclusion of the men’s 4×400 meter relay.
The Bears took home their lone first-place finish in the women’s weight throw event, with Junior Joia Perry pacing all participants with a 20.08 meter throw.
Three other Bears placed in the top-seven in the event, with seniors Joy Nance and Serena Degollado finishing third and fifth respectively.
Freshman Malea Wiggins was able to secure a seventh place finish.
The indoor school record in the 800 meter run was broken at the meet, with sophomore Abby Machesky setting a new program best at 2:12.27.
Her time slotted her in sixth place in the event.
Machesky broke the previous record of 2:14.40 set on Feb. 10, 2024 by Anna Bommes.
Central Arkansas also claimed two top-five finishes in the women’s 800 meter race, with junior Raghan Allen clocking in at 23.85 for third, and sophomore Danyelle Poole taking fifth with a time of 24.14.
The UCA women earned another top ten time in the 3000m dash, as Sequoya Prentice used her time of 10:45.77 to come in fourth.
The Central Arkansas men found plenty of success of their own at the meet, particularly in the weight throw – where five of the top ten finishes came were Bears.
Senior Jaden Schneeberger and sophomore Devyn Steingisser found themselves next to each other in second and third, with Schneeberger tallying a 20.10 meter throw and Steingisser recording a personal-best 18.58 meters.
Senior Treavor Green and freshmen Zahir Mcphail and Eli Jones would claim places eight through ten.
The UCA men also shined in the one-mile run, claiming another four top-ten finishes. Sophomore Logan Dingman came in third with a personal-best time of 4:12.08, and sophomore Trae Baker used a time of 4:16.57 to finish in sixth.
Senior Sam Morales and sophomore William Hill would claim ninth and tenth place for the Bears with times of 4:23.33 and 4:25.50
The day would see four additional UCA men take home top five finishes.
After qualifying for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles, junior Byron Holt would finish fourth with a time of 7.98.
Baker and senior Ky Bickford earned fourth and fifth place finishes in the 800 meter run, clocking times of 1:53.51 and 1:53.84 respectively.
In the shot put, freshman Eli Jones took home fifth with his throw of 16.62 meters.
In total, 41 Central Arkansas athletes claimed top-ten finishes.
The Bears will return to Fayetteville for the third time this season on Feb. 13 for the Tyson Invitational.
