Welcome back to a new semester of classes and a new beginning for student media here at UCA. From the ashes of the Fountain we have risen, new and improved, as the Echo Online.

As you may remember, the Fountain as a seperate entity is no more. Instead, the Echo has expanded its scope and will now incorporate a wider range of events and extend its viewership tenfold by adding a concentrated online presence.

With the merger’s details finalized and put into effect over the winter break, several changes are coming to both the print and online publications.

The Echo will implement a new beat system, and several new sections will be added to both print and online. Additionally, Echo and Echo Online staff will write for both publications, relieving the overall stress on our reporters. The greater coverage and resources available will allow for more efficient and effective reporting.
