Belaxation hopes its handmade, self-care products can bring customers comfort and help them find a moment in their day to destress, relax and focus on themselves.
Belaxation is a small business located in Cabot that sells handmade, cold processed soap, bath bombs and candles, while under the ownership of UCA student junior Bailey Melikian.
“I have always been captivated by the idea of giving to others, so I knew I needed to establish the ability and means to do so,” Melikian said. “The idea for starting Belaxation began almost a year ago when I began making cold processed soaps. Turning my soaps into a business clicked for me that I can create value for others by the products I can offer.”
Belaxation officially opened its doors in December 2021 after Melikian spent over a year experimenting, narrowing down her product list.
“I took time to make sure each product was the best quality that it could be. I ran multiple tests on each product and fine-tuned each individual formula,” Melikian said.
Finding these perfect combinations was key to delivering a life-changing experience to her customers.
“I am focused on making every customer interaction with Belaxation a wonderful and unique experience. I want my customers to feel relaxed each time they use one of my products,” Melikian said. “The simple act of lighting a candle or using a new fragranced soap bar can truly bring something extra to your day.”
Luxury can also be found in the decision to shop locally and support small businesses.
Belaxation made it a part of its mission to buy locally from suppliers in Arkansas when fueling its products.
“I wanted to help the businesses in our area continue to grow as I endeavored on my own,” Melikian said.
She hopes to get the same kind of support entering the new year.
“I have been working with small businesses in Cabot to begin placing Belaxation products in local establishments,” Melikian said.
To help grow Belaxation’s brand, Melikian hopes to expand the product line, revamp items already available and grow her business’ social media presence.
As of right now, Belaxation is currently online only, taking orders through Etsy or direct messaging on Instagram.
Currently, Belaxation is selling candles for $15 and cold processed soap bars for $4.50.
These products can be found on Belaxation’s Instagram @belaxation, or on its Etsy, which is linked in its bio.
