Amidst the chatter of people shopping, talking, eating and drinking on Chestnut Street in Downtown Conway, vintage vendors brought old pieces to life.
Roundabout Vintage hosted their first market on Saturday March 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The market was put on by Cole Moss –- @coles.cave.vintage on Instagram — and Rouge Roundabout, a local restaurant.
The market had 20 plus vendors selling vintage clothes, shoes, accessories, books, vinyls and more.
Lexi Hutchins, owner of She Go, was set up and selling her products at the market.
“I started it [She Go] about six years ago, in 2020 back during COVID-19. I was about 16 years old, and I started running it out of my bedroom,” Hutchins said.“I’ve always loved vintage fashion. Ever since I was very young and it was all I could afford. But I wanted to make slow fashion a more easy choice for people to shop.”
During the summer Hutchins tries to attend a market every weekend to sell her clothes and accessories from She Go.
You can find She Go on Instagram at @shego.inc and stay updated on her shop and any upcoming events she will be attending.
Hutchins drops new products every week on Saturday on her depop @shegos.
Owner of Oak Forest Vintage, Taylor Compton, also attended the market.
“We resell clothing from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, even up to the early 2000s. We sell shirts, sweaters, belts and accessories,” Compton said.
Oak Forest Vintage, Compton’s store, is located in Little Rock where he sells his vintage items on 608 Main St, Little Rock Arkansas.
“I’ve been reselling clothes since 2006 and vintage clothes since 2012. I opened the store in Little Rock in December 2017,” Compton said.
Serendipity vintage, which started out in 2013 and is owned by Brody and Becca Fisher, was also at the market.
“We sell a lot of y2k and vintage girls products,” Brody Fisher said.
At Serendipity vintage they also sell a lot of vintage Arkansas championship clothes.
Serendipity Vintage tries to attend three markets a month and also sells items on their Instagram @serendipityvintage.
This community-based market full of different types of vendors brought in a crowd excited to look at all of the vendors.
Burkley Blankenship attends vintage markets regularly and enjoyed Roundabout Vintage’s first market.
“The rouge roundabout market was by far my favorite market I’ve been to,” Blankenship said. “It was an amazing day so the outdoor market was perfect. The sunshine brought out good vibes from everyone there and I feel like they even threw in some great discounts.”
“I ended up getting a couple of t-shirts and loose sweaters for summer but by far my favorite was this signed Willy Nelson t-shirt from a concert in 92’,” Blankenship said.
