At 1021 Van Ronkle St., there lives a shop to find your style, America Jane Vintage.
America Jane Vintage specializes in rehousing vintage clothing, furniture, jewelry, decor and an array of other vintage finds.
America Jane Vintage began as a pop-up shop at Hendrix College in 2012 and blossomed into a small store in 2015.
Tina Falkner, the owner and founder, referred to the initial location as an “incubator” for its rough conditions. The shop was located in this spot for about four years until opening its permanent location in 2019.
In 2020, the business continued to expand its space, grow its revenue and invited local creatives and curators to begin selling at the shop.
America Jane Vintage has about 20 vendors that sell their finds with the shop. Each curator has a section to sell their collections.
Falkner said most vendors have specific types of clothing that they sell, styles ranging from bohemian to Y2K to dark academia.
America Jane Vintage offers a range of different styles to fit virtually anyone’s taste in clothing and jewelry.
Falkner said, “Our wide array of styles allow customers to find their style and feel comfortable in their clothing and their own skin.”
She said that her favorite part of owning the store is watching customers come into their own and find clothing and accessories that make them feel like their best selves.
Falkner said she found her love of vintage things while searching for items to fill her family’s new home with after living overseas for a few years prior.
Falkner said she began finding things that others would like and she began selling things independently before starting her pop-ups, which would lead to a thriving business.
When referring to where she goes to source merchandise, Falkner said, “Those are trade secrets.”
She said most people who thrift don’t share where they acquire their findings because it will give away their favorite spots — this is an unspoken rule in the thrift community.
America Jane Vintage is divided into different sections. Sections include spots for curators, vintage T-shirts, vintage jeans, accessories like shoes, belts and scarves, jewelry, furniture and decor.
There are also sections for baby clothes, vintage toys, and handmade crafts.
Falkner said she specifically shopped for aesthetics over decades. She revealed some vendors separate their finds into decades, but she normally looks for different styles and aesthetics when searching for vendors.
She said she likes for those with specific aesthetics to know exactly where to shop when looking for new clothing.
For those looking for vintage sports attire, America Jane Vintage offers a selection of vintage jerseys and hats.
With one glance, a wide selection of vintage finds will be at the fingertips of shoppers. America Jane Vintage is a place of solace for hunter-gatherers and allows those with doubts to find their style.
